Education for rental housing professionals

Rental housing industry professionals look to the Texas Apartment Association as a leading source for industry education. TAA offers a variety of educational offerings to fit the needs of rental property owners, mid- to upper-level management company executives, REIT executives, property supervisors, and onsite personnel.

TAA Annual Education Conference & Lone Star Expo

TAA's annual Education Conference & Lone Star Expo is a convenient way to keep up with industry trends and pick up new information. Choose from a wide selection of concurrent educational seminars and optional events, and develop a program that meets your needs.

TAA-sponsored seminars

TAA offers seminars for owners and top management, and for onsite professionals. TAA-sponsored seminars offer continuing education credits for CAM, CAMT and CAMT II, CAPS, CAS and NALP designates, and Mandatory Continuing Education credits (MCE) required by the Texas Real Estate Commission for real estate licensees.

NAA designation programs

Many of the local associations affiliated with TAA offer designation courses for

  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM)
  • Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT and CAMT II)
  • Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS)
  • Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS) and
  • National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP)

Independent owners can obtain specialized education through the Rental Owners Course (ROC).

Professional designation programs are developed and regularly updated by the National Apartment Association.

These programs are only offered through your local association, and are not offered by the Texas Apartment Association.

TAA self-study options

Local programs

TAA's local affiliates offer a variety of local programs on legal issues, leasing techniques, maintenance concerns and other issues. Many local affiliates also offer professional designation courses, and can grant continuing education credits, and in some cases, MCE credits.
